With primary funding from the Teresa Hughes Trust and the Geist foundation, the Enhancements and Basic Needs program of Friends of the Children of West Hawaii provides "Person In Need" funds to qualifying children and youth in our community. Under the guidelines of the program, children who have been abused or neglected, children in foster care, and children in high risk demographic categories may qualify for direct financial assistance up to $500 per year.

What will the program provide financial assistance for?

Youth Athletic Program, Equipment, and/or Uniforms

After School and School Break Activities

Clothing and Shoes

Arts Activities, Lessons, and/or Supplies

Individual Lessons in activities of interest

Computers or Tablets for academic use

Summer School or Correspondence Courses

Travel for education, enrichment, or familial reconciliation

and MORE!

Not sure if your request will qualify for assistance? It never hurts to ask! Friends of the Children of West Hawaii reviews all requests based on the criteria of all available funding in an effort to provide the most broadly reaching population and to most effectively serve those in need in our community.

If you are a youth in need of assistance or if you are a parent, family member, guardian, or professional who is aware of a youth in need of assistance, please feel free to make a request of Friends of the Children of West Hawaii's Enhancements and Basic Needs program by clicking the link below.
